The sale of The Herald has hit a roadblock.

Blake Ellis was scheduled to take over the reigns of the 136 year old newspaper which was founded in Thamesville in late June. However financing for the deal fell through leaving him unable to take over.

“The Herald will continue operation under the current ownership,” says Publisher Heather Wright.

“While I was expecting to be able to focus on other projects, I know how important it is for communities to have a local newspaper and we’ll keep providing coverage for Thamesville, Dresden and Bothwell.”

Wright plans to introduce a website for The Herald – theheralddnews.ca- in the next month as a compliment to the print edition to improve coverage to the area.
