A 49 year-old Wallaceburg man is facing drug charges after police went to make sure he was okay.

Chatham-Kent Police went to Elgin Street to do a wellness check; they had been told a man was in the home that possibly had a gas leak.

Police found he had been uncooperative with the people looking into the suspected gas leak and arrested him for breaching the peace.

Police searched the home and found he had a “large amount of suspected cocaine.”

A 49 year-old man from Wallaceburg has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released from police custody to attend court later.
