A 30 year-old Tilbury area woman is facing charges after Chatham-Kent Police clocked a driver going 175 km/h.
At 12:30 Monday morning, while the officer was on patrol, he say a car speed by on Merlin Road in Raleigh.
The officer confirmed the vehicle’s speed “at an alarming 175 km/hour” according to the department’s news release. The posted speed limit was 80 km/h.
Police stopped the car and charged a woman with stunt driving. Her vehicle was towed.
Police say speeding “reduces your ability to react to unexpected situations, increases the likelihood of accidents, and can result in severe injuries or even fatalities.
“It is crucial to prioritize road safety by obeying speed limits, remaining vigilant, and driving responsibly. Remember, your actions behind the wheel impact the lives of everyone sharing the road.”
