Thamesville’s Lucas Vanroboys has earned a prestigious academic award. 

He is one of five players from the University of Bentley Falcons named the American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholars list.

To be included, players must have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 (93.75 per cent) and appear in 40 per cent of their team’s games.  

Vanroboys, who will continue his academic career at the University of Massachusetts this fall, has won the honour twice before while attending the Boston-area school.  

He recorded 11 goals and 44 points in 111 games with the Falcons over the course of his four-year career.
